Its design is sustained on the engagement with innovation and sustainability, as well as on the conviction that these two go hand in hand.<\/p>\n<p>During the project and construction phases, countless sustainability measures have been incorporated, with the result that a degree of excellence has been achieved that had not been reached in Spain until now by an educational centre. The building &#8220;Carmen Mart\u00edn Gaite&#8221; is the first one of its kind to obtain a LEED Certificate and it has been in the highest grade: LEED PLATINUM.<\/p>\n<p>SUSTAINABLE SITE<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Promotion of public and alternative transportation.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Maximized and vegetated open spaces.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Permeable surfaces.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Native vegetation.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Reduced heat island effect.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; All parking spaces under cover.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Vegetated roof surfaces.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; White top roofs pavement (high SRI).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>WATER EFFICIENCY<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; High-efficiency fixtures.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Landscaping with low irrigation requirements.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; No potable water is used for irrigation.
