Fassa Bortolo manuals list our products that comply with LEED, BREEAM, WELL and CAM environmental protocols. With an eye to efficiency and energy saving issues, we carry out a series of activities to test products and solutions that can meet regulatory and market requirements, while respecting the environment, workers and end users. 

Our company has decided to adopt a certified EPD Process system regarding environmental communication. The entire process of collecting data, conducting LCA studies and monitoring environmental impact is managed in a special, certified system that is always up-to-date according to international standards. In this way, the company can increase its awareness of the environmental impacts of its products, as well as transparently communicate these environmental impacts. This tool, known as EPD (Environmental Product Declaration), provides a complete overview of the effects a product can have during its life cycle on a large number of environmental aspects: from the impact on global warming, eutrophication, acidification, resource use, depletion of the stratospheric ozone layer, and many others. 

The CAM, minimum environmental criteria, were introduced in 2017 to ensure more sustainable construction. This tool has the objective of encouraging wider use of products and solutions that have the lowest possible impact on the environment, from production to installation and disposal. 

IACG, Indoor Air Comfort Gold, is a certification obtained from low-emission products, demonstrating the products’ compliance with VOC requirements in Europe and certification protocols such as LEED, BREEAM and WELL.

All products in the Fassa Bortolo Paint System respect the parameters established by European Union regulations and standards aimed at limiting the emission of organic compounds. They therefore comply with the provisions of Italian Legislative Decree no. 161 of 27/03/2006 (implementing Directive 2004/42/EC), identifying the maximum content of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) in paints and paste coatings. 

The Biosafe^® Environmental Health Certification Protocol can be used by engineers to check, design and manage the indoor air quality index in very energy-efficient buildings. An authoritative and recognised tool to give the right value to your building redevelopment project. 

Classification and labelling system applied to emissions of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) from construction and decoration products and indoor finishes. 

Voluntary mark certifying the emission of Volatile and Semi-Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC and SVOC) issued by GEV (the Association for the Control of Emissions in Products for Floor Installation, Adhesives and Building Materials), applied to the products in our System for Laying Floor and Wall Coverings. 

Fassa Bortolo has voluntarily signed up to the “Italian Environmental Footprint Program” developed by the Ministry for the Environment, Land and Sea, aimed at determining the carbon footprint across the life cycle of its products, including the AT 99 MAXYFLEX adhesive. 

All Fassa products comply with EC standards and regulations, satisfy all the performance requisites for building products (CPR 305/2011) and bear CE and DoP marking. All technical documentation bears special logos highlighting possession of these requisites, while others confirm compliance to the criteria and classification methods specified in European standards and regulations.

From insulation to adhesive/skim coat, anchors and reinforcing bars, all elements in the Fassatherm External Thermal Insulation Composite System are submitted to the strictest controls possible. The Fassatherm External Thermal Insulation Composite System has obtained European Technical Approval (ETA), which confirms the positive technical assessment of suitability for use in thermal insulation.

The KIWA Building Product organisation has issued the BDA Agrément^® for the system with A96 on plaster-carrier concrete slabs, for installation on wooden frames or masonry. The products have been examined and rigorously tested according to precise installation instructions. The certificate confirms compliance and durability in accordance with the specific installation method. The BDA Agrément^® has received third-party approval from NHBC for the UK market.

Prestigious certification issued by the CSTB (Centre Scientifique et Technique du Bâtiment), the main French public certifying body based on European standard NF EN 12004, which certifies the performance classification of tile adhesives and the implementation and application of a production control system that ensures the constant quality of the products.

NF certification is issued by CSTB Paris, in accordance with NF certification regulation 081 specified by AFNOR, the French standards organisation. Most of the Gypsotech^® plasterboards have obtained NF certification, a fundamental requisite for the French market.
