Building culture and preserving heritage: the commitment of Fassa to cultural heritage.
Fassa Bortolo has always been committed to the cultural enhancement and preservation of the historical-artistic heritage. This commitment is reflected in significant initiatives such as the International Award for Sustainable Architecture and the Domus Restoration and Preservation International Award, in collaboration with the Department of Architecture of the University of Ferrara.
The company is also known for its tradition of patronage, actively contributing to the restoration of important artworks. These include the frescoes of the Palazzo dei Trecento in Treviso, the wall paintings of some workshops in Via dell’Abbondanza in Pompeii in collaboration with the local Archaeological Superintendency and the Department of Architecture of the University of Ferrara. Furthermore, Fassa Bortolo formed a partnership with the Municipality of Venice from 2006 to 2010.
An important contribution in terms of cultural enhancement was offered by Fassa Bortolo to the restoration of some plaster casts by Antonio Canova, in particular the famous work “Dancer with Cymbals”. The company supported a significant joint project of the Canova Foundation in Possagno (TV), which allowed the Dancer to be restored to its former splendour through a reverse engineering operation.
We at Fassa Bortolo go beyond our role in the building sector, actively contributing to the enhancement and preservation of cultural heritage and promoting a dialogue between architecture, art and sustainability.
