In the recovery and restoration of historical buildings, the use of binders that are not compatible with the pre-existing materials is one of the most significant risk factors for the preservation of our architectural heritage: this is why the needs of the building must be taken into account when choosing materials.

Experimental data and scientific research have shown that air lime, used for over 10,000 years in architecture, is the best material for use on restoration sites because it is perfectly compatible with the existing building and reversible over time, respecting both the building and the environment.

This knowledge, supported by the accurate analyses carried out by our Fassa I-Lab, led to the creation of the NOVANTICA^® line, the result of the combined use of air lime and eco-pozzolanic materials, responding to the most modern requirements of sustainable restoration.

This is a range of lime-based products that are completely cement-free, with chemical-physical characteristics similar to those of the mortars used in the past, designed to work on historic buildings, with masonry made of tuff, stone, rubble masonry or solid brick.

In addition to being products recommended by Legambiente, the rendering cycle composed of BIO-RINZAFFO, BIO-INTONACO DI FONDO and BIO-INTONACO FINE, has obtained the Biosafe^{^®} environmental health certificate, an authoritative and recognised tool that gives proper value to a building redevelopment project.
