I The FASSAPROTECTION PARETE anti-overturning systems, realised on brickwork infills, provide a useful intervention necessary to counteract the development, following seismic events, of out-of-plane overturning mechanisms in fragile infills that are poorly connected to the load-bearing reinforced concrete frame structure.
The systems consist of an inorganic matrix reinforced with a fibre mesh and bound perimetrically to the load-bearing reinforced concrete structure by means of special connectors.
The systems can be applied directly onto existing plaster (FASSAPROTECTION PARETE OVER) or, if no plaster is present or following its removal, directly onto the brick substrate (FASSAPROTECTION PARETE R2 or FASSAPROTECTION PARETE NHL).
The performance of Fassa Bortolo’s anti-overturning systems was tested by destructive anti-overturning tests on full-size brick infill panels.
