Intended use: Residenziale

The environmental strategy developed as part of our ongoing reflections about the nature of cities, and it had an early impact on the project, not so much because we needed to satisfy certain regulatory criteria, rather because we wanted to merge a desire for architecture with sustainability, with an eye to savings and to known or contingent uses.

Our proposal pays homage to Paris by employing an architecture that inserts itself into the city’s own logic, but which also responds to current and future challenges. 

The Captain’s House was located on a cliff. Before the restoration work, it was a two-story house with a brick-masonry structure. Besides improving the interior living condition of the house, the client also would like to add a third level, as a multi-functional space.

Palazzo Lampedusa era la famosa “Casa” di Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa. Bombardato nell’Aprile del 1943, è rimasto in stato di rudere per circa 70 anni. Il progetto realizzato è di restauro e ripristino, come da dicitura del Piano Particolareggiato Esecutivo. La destinazione d’uso è residenziale.

Tongling Recluse is located in a remote village in the north of Anhui Province originally a normal folk house in the style of Huizhou and Yanjiang. Nested on the top of the mountain, the original roofing and wall were badly damaged.

The house stands on a clearing in the trees, 700 meters above sea level, close to the “Passo del Cavallo”, next to a road that connects Trompia Valley and Sabbia Valley on a steep slope. The landscape is characterized by an open valley to the south and a frame of green mountains with peaks of dolomite rock to the north.

Villa Kogelhof: harmony between architecture and landscape

The abstract architectural composition of the 715 m2 Villa Kogelhof aims to be non-intrusive, both by minimizing the footprint of its volume in an ecological zone and by being completely self-sufficient.

L’edificio si trova a Venezia, nel sestiere di Cannaregio, ed è situato al piano terra del complesso di Palazzo Lezze, quale termine del giardino prospiciente l’acqua. Questo manufatto è chiamato Casin ed è attribuito, relativamente alla facciata prospiciente il Rio della Sensa, al Longhena.

The project refers to the local patio house. The main function is about arts production, as a platform for cultural exchange. Responding to tropical climate conditions the building has a steep-pitched roof, with open gable and high peak to allow air circulation as well as wind-oriented pitches which channel cross breezes. 

Il progetto poggia su quattro pilastri: Energia, Economia, Etica, Efficienza, dai quali deriva il titolo: E4, risultato delle richieste della committenza di sostenibilità economica in fase di costruzione e di gestione dell’edificio, oltre che di rispetto del luogo.
Il concept architettonico dell’edificio è la lettura in chiave contemporanea della tipologia rurale: utilizzo di muratura portante con forti spessori che racchiudono uno spazio essenziale, interrotto dal setto inclinato che riporta ad un linguaggio attuale. Anche il tetto in legno, con la sua accentuata pendenza, ricorda le costruzioni agricole tradizionali.

The Paramount, a mini-hybrid residence/private house, was conceived as a light structure on top of the Residence Alma, a Tyrolean guest house with 6 holiday apartments from the 1960s adorned with a pitched roof, so as to occupy as less space as possible and to not affect the surrounding green area.
